A memorial service was held Friday, July 20, 2012, for former Longview City Councilwoman Sidney Bell Willis. She served as representative for District 3 from 2002 through 2011. Friday, July 20, 2012 was declared "Sidney Bell Willis Day" in Longview.

A General Election for City of Longview City Council Districts 1, 2, and Mayor will be held on Saturday, May 12. Election results will be posted on election night.
