Channel 5 Television

City of Longview Channel 5 Television is designed to inform citizens of news and events related to City government and offers many programs and videos. All programs and videos shown on Channel 5 are also available for viewing on our website.  Check the Media Center for more information. 

Programming
You can view Longview City Council meetings, board/commission meetings, news conferences and special events both live and recorded on Channel 5.

City Council Meetings*
Live coverage of Longview City Council meetings airs at 5:30 p.m. the second and fourth Thursday of each month. City Council meetings and worksessions are held in City Hall Council Chambers, 300 W. Cotton St. (unless posted otherwise).
*City Council meetings will be rebroadcast at 6:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 10:30 p.m. and 3 a.m. for one week after original broadcast.

Planning and Zoning Commission Meetings
Planning and Zoning Meetings are held 5:30 p.m., the third Tuesday of each month at the City Council Chamber, 300 W. Cotton St. (unless posted otherwise). These meetings are broadcast live on City of Longview Channel 5 Television and are usually rebroadcast on Channel 5 at 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. for one week after the original broadcast (depending on time availablity). 

"Living in Longview"
"Living In Longview" is an interview program designed to inform citizens about City of Longview government. Each show focuses on a specific topic, including upcoming City events or current issues within the municipal government. The program is hosted by City employees, Shawn Hara, Willie Marshall and Mary Ann Miller. Each show will feature a City employee knowledgeable in the particular area of discussion.

News Conferences
City of Longview news conferences held in the City Council Chambers are broadcast on City of Longview Channel 5 Television. Notice of these broadcasts will be on Channel 5 and the City of Longview Website.

Special Events
Special events are shown as scheduled. Notice of these broadcasts will also be on the Longview Channel 5 Television and the City Website.

Announcements and Information Screens
Channel 5 Television displays announcements of current information about City government, services, and events. Active announcement slides can be viewed online on the Channel 5 Television Website.
