Red Ribbon Week Essay Contest Winners and Awards Luncheon
(Longview, TX) The City of Longview Partners in Prevention is proud to announce the winners of the 15th annual Red Ribbon Week 4th Grade Essay Contest. During Red Ribbon Week, over 1,200 essays were written by students from area school districts using 50 words or less to finish the statement, “I am drug free because…”. LeTourneau University education majors judged the essays.
An awards luncheon is scheduled for Wednesday, November 28, at noon in the Memorial Student Center on the LeTourneau Univesity campus, to recognize the grand prize winners and their teachers. The “Honorable Judge Wm. ‘Bill’ Jennings” Award will be presented to one overall winner presented by the Coalition for Drug Free Youth. All winners are from the area school districts of Gladewater, Hallsville, Longview, Spring Hill, and the Trinity School of Texas.
