The Purchasing Department is responsible for the disposal of surplus goods and real property. By law, purchasing transactions and surplus disposal are required to be conducted by competitive process with few exceptions. Disposal of most surplus City property, equipment, and supplies is done by means of auction through www.PropertyRoom.com, www.ReneBates.com
or competitive bids.
The contract of sale shall be awarded to the highest responsible bidder, either at auction or upon sealed bids, after such public notice and competition as may be prescribed, and upon such other terms and conditions not inconsistent with express provisions of law and the City’s charter.
