Hiring Process
There are three main phases candidates must complete to become a Firefighter:

Beginning Employment
The selection process is vigorous and extensive; however, the reward is a career with one of the best organizations in the state of Texas.
Minimum Requirements
The following section contains general requirements for employment that must be met prior to employment:
Application Requirements for Firefighter/EMT-B and Paramedic
Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of test date
Must have high school diploma or G.E.D.
Must have government issued driver license
Application Requirements for Firefighter/Paramedic (in addition to the above)
Must have Structural Firefighter Certification from the Texas Commission on Fire Protection
Must have Paramedic Certification with the Texas Department of State Health Services or the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians
