What is Mentoring?

Mentoring is a structured relationship between a caring adult and a young person needing additional support and encouragement. Mentors encourage mentees to live up to their potential by doing well in school, making good choices, and completing a high school education with a plan for the future. Mentors meet for one hour per week with their mentee at school, usually during lunch.

Mentoring can help young people improve their attitudes, feel valued, and face daily challenges. Mentors can help young people celebrate their accomplishments, and set high expectations for personal growth and success.
