Partners in Prevention provides youth activities throughout the year. These type activities can develop new friendships; create new interests and hobbies; develop leadership skills; and provide a positive, safe environment for children to have fun.
Research shows that youth involved in after school activities and goal oriented structured programs are less likely to engage in harmful activities such as drugs, violence and crime; and are more likely to develop conflict resolution skills and the ability to work positively with others. Furthermore, recent studies show that nearly one fourth of children in the United States are obese. Physical activity for youth can help combat weight issues, diabetes, high blood pressure and risk of heart disease.
