1st Watch Patrol Lieutenant

Lieutenant Rob Bowen began his career with the Longview Police Department in 1991. Bowen served as a patrol officer, uniformed crime investigator, SWAT member, narcotics agent, and narcotic K-9 handler prior to his promotion to the rank of sergeant in 2001. As a sergeant, he supervised patrol officers on all three shifts and was the designated FIeld Training Officer supervisor for each shift. He spent nearly seven years as a supervisor in the Criminal Investigations Division. His area of supervision included the Crimes Against Property Section, Forgery, Physical Evidence Section, Cybercrimes, and the LPD Property Room. He also served as the Department’s FTO Program Coordinator prior to his promotion to the rank of lieutenant in June, 2014.

Lt. Bowen obtained an associate’s degree in General Christian Education from Texas Baptist College in 1992. Lieutenant Bowen is a 2003 graduate of LeTourneau University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He is a 2002 graduate of the ILEA School of Police Supervision.
