2nd Watch Patrol Lieutenant

Lieutenant Rob Bowen began his career with the Longview Police Department in 1991.   Lt. Bowen served as a patrol officer, uniformed crime investigator, SWAT member, narcotics agent, and narcotic K9 handler prior to his promotion to the rank of sergeant in 2001.  As a sergeant, he supervised patrol officers on all three shifts and was the designated FTO supervisor for each.  He spent nearly seven years supervising several functions of the Investigative Services of the Department, which included the Crimes against Property Section, Forgery, Physical Evidence Section, Cybercrimes, and the LPD Property Room.  He also served as the Department’s FTO Program Coordinator prior to his promotion to the rank of lieutenant in June, 2014.   

Lt. Bowen is a 2003 graduate of LeTourneau University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.  He obtained an associate’s degree in General Christian Education from Texas Baptist College in 1992.  He is a 2002 graduate of the ILEA School of Police Supervision.

He currently serves at the 2nd Watch patrol lieutenant and the School Resource Officer Unit
