Feral or wild cats remain one of the biggest challenges animal shelters have. Many of these cats were abandoned and have become wild out of self-preservation.
Feral cats can create problems in neighborhoods by:
- Destroying personal property
- Fighting with and injuring domestic cats
- Having numerous litters each year
- Spreading disease
Feral cats may be trapped and brought to the Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center. However, these cats cannot be safely adopted into homes, nor will prolonged trapping solve the feral cat problem in your neighborhood.
The shelter does loan out traps.
