Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking Workshop

The East Texas Anti-Trafficking Teams is proud to host the Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking:  American’s Hidden Slavery workshop.  The workshop will be held 9 a.m - Noon, Dec. 1 at Maude Cobb Activity Complex, 100 Grand Ave.  Workshop cost is $25

Upon completion of this event, participants should be able to: 
  • Define the scope of Domestic or Minor Sex Trafficking in the US, State, locally
  • Determine the vulnerabilities of at-risk groups
  • Recognize the dynamics of pimp manipulation and control, buyer demand, and cultural facilitators.
  • Detect victims by looking for physical and psychological signs of involvement, learn strength based and trauma-informed methods of asking questions to identify victims.
  • Evaluate needed changes and strategies.
Presenter:  Lindsey Speed, Director of Programs for Traffick 911

Lindsey has been involved in the fight against human trafficking with Traffick911 since 2010.  She currently serves as Director   Programs for Traffick911, overseeing all prevention, identification and empowerment initiatives for the agency.  Lindsey speaks across Texas to first responders, everyday citizens and youth on the issue and has the unique opportunity to work very closely with victims and their families.

Lindsey is on the executive  committee of the North Texas Coalition Against Human Trafficking and is also a member of the Crime Victims Council of  Dallas County. She represents Traffick911 on the Texas Attorney General's Human Trafficking Task Force and is on the core team of CEASE Network Dallas (Cities Empowered Against   Sexual Exploitation). Lindsey holds a bachelors of science from Texas A&M University.

Anyone interested in learning the signs of youth sex trafficking.  Continuing Education Units will be offered to Continuing Medical Education, Continuing Nursing Education, Social Workers, Certified Health Educations Specialists, and Licensed Professional Counselors.
The Texas Department of State Health Services, Continuing Education Service has designated 2.75 hours for attendance.
