2020 General Election

Information and Candidate Filing

The regularly scheduled 2020 General Election will be held November 3, 2020 for City Council District 3.  It was postponed by the Longview City Council on Monday, March 23 following the recommendations of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to avoid public gatherings due to the threat of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Candidates filed an application for a place on the ballot for the General Election between Jan. 15, 2020 - Feb. 14, 2020.

The District 4 election was canceled by the City Council on Thursday, Feb. 27 after only one candidate, incumbent Councilwoman Kristen Ishihara, filed to run.  Ishihara will serve another three-year term expiring May 2023.
