Main Street - Downtown

Main Street Program

Longview is one of many communities designated as accredited Main Street communities in Texas. As part of the Texas Main Street program, a division of the Texas Historical Commission, designated Main Street communities seek to preserve, promote and revitalize their historic downtown districts through a Four Point approach involving organization, economic development, thoughtful design and promotion.

This Four Point model is a tool of the national Main Street Center, a subsidiary of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Together, Longview Main Street, Texas Main Street and the National Main Street Center work to maintain Downtown Longview’s Historical integrity and create a vibrant business community.
