The Stormwater Management Program (SWMP) is used to maintain the environmental integrity of the lakes, creeks and rivers in Longview, including the Sabine River. Stormwater consists of precipitation that is not absorbed into the ground and is deposited back into our local bodies of water. This could be rain, snow, water from lawn sprinklers, and any other liquid that enters the storm drain system. Any water runoff from roofs, lawns, and streets pick up chemicals and pollutants on its way, and are discharged in to our local creeks, streams, and rivers.
