The Community Destinations Department ensures Longview is a hub for state and regional tourism by coordinating public events, maintaining state of the art event venues, and overseeing City of Longview communication efforts. The department was created in 2022 to bring together many of the City of Longview's event-focused efforts. The department includes the Longview Convention Complex, the Longview Public Library, Visit Longview Texas and Longview Main Street as well as the Media Development division. Tourism efforts work closely with the Community Services Department and Arts!Longview as well as the Parks and Recreation Department to promote sports tourism.
