On April 15, 2018 at 2:26 am the Longview Fire Department responded to a reported residential structure fire at 1713 Sandlin Street. Crews arrived and found the house approximately 50 percent involved with fire. There was one occupant at home and she received smoke inhalation and minor burns. She was transported to CGSMC for treatment. Several pets were unable to escape the fire and died at the scene. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
On April 16, 2018 at 1220 am the Longview Fire Department responded to 4306 W. Marshall Ave. for a reported commercial structure fire. Crews arrived and found the gas station approximately 25% involved with fire. The fire was quickly extinguished with no reported injuries. After investigation the fire was determined to have started from an overloaded electrical circuit.
