On July 31, 2018 the Longview Fire Department responded to three separate reports of structure fires throughout the city and county. The first fire reported came in at 103 S. Joan Street. This was a mutual aid response with the Judson-Metro Fire Department. When units arrived they found a small fire inside the exterior wall of the residence around an electrical outlet. Crews were able to remove the brick from the outside of the home and sheetrock from the inside the room to extinguish and keep the fire damage to the wall. There were no reported injuries.
The second fire came in at 2900 S. Estes Parkway. This was a working structure fire in a mobile home. Crews arrived and found the mobile home approximately 40% involved with fire. The home received extensive fire damage. The resident was asleep on the couch at the time of the fire and was able to escape without injury. One of the family pets was unable to escape and did lose its life as a result of the fire. It is believed that the fire was caused from faulty electrical wiring.
While crews were still on scene at 2900 S. Estes Parkway, another structure fire was reported at the EZ Wash located at 4115 W. Marshall. Fire Crews arrived on scene and found smoke coming from the building. Crews investigated and found that clothes inside a dryer had caught fire. There was no damage to the building and there were no injuries reported.
