[ARCHIVED] Longview Fire Dept Responds to Wrecks

Fire News

On August 3, 2018 the Longview Fire Department responded to a two car accident at the intersection of Fairmont Street and Bill Owens Parkway.  A small passenger car was struck on the passenger side of the vehicle by an SUV.  The passenger in the car had to be extricated with the Jaws of Life and was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.  The drivers of both vehicles sustained minor injuries and were not taken to the hospital by ambulance.

As LFD crews were clearing the scene from Bill Owens Parkway and Fairmont Street another reported jaws call was dispatched in the area of Highway 31 and West Loop 281.  The accident was located on Hwy 31 just south of Jaycee Drive. LFD found a small passenger car had struck a portable trailer mounted electronic speed control sign before leaving the road way and ending up in the grass median.  The driver was able to get out of the vehicle on his own and did not need to be extricated by LFD.  The driver was not transported to the hospital by ambulance.
