[ARCHIVED] Structure fires make for a busy Wednesday

On January 16, 2019 the Longview Fire Department responded to two working structure fires. The first fire was reported at approximately 4:26 p.m. as a residential structure fire located at 1416 May Jane. Fire crews arrived and reported heavy smoke conditions. The fire originated in the kitchen and is believed to have started from an unattended pan of grease that had been used to fry potatoes. All occupants were able to escape the house without injury. One dog was treated on scene by Paramedics and taken to the animal hospital where it is recovering from smoke inhalation. 

The second structure fire was reported at approximately 8:28 p.m. and was located at 1307 El Paso street. Fire crews arrived to find a vacant residence with approximately 25 percent of the structure on fire. The fire was extinguished quickly with no reported injuries. The cause of this fire is still under investigation
