[ARCHIVED] Hope for Youth Community Day

PIP

The City of Longview Partners in Prevention’s Hope for Youth will host a family event, Hope for Youth Community Day, on August 3 from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Big Pines located at 610 W. Garfield Drive.   The theme for the day’s event is from SAVE Start (Students Against Violence Everywhere) Hello Program which advocates stopping social isolation.   An adult must be present with youth 12 years and younger.

This special event will include a Hope Speaker Series with the goal of providing information to equip students to be change-makers when they return to school later in August.  Emcee for the day will be Jasmine Stoker and the speakers are Alicia Johnson, Izrell Adams, Emmett Shankle, James Manning, and Steve Vance.  In addition, individual and group activities, game centers, Teen Talking Circle Session, Parent Connection Resource Center, Hope Notes Project, and HFY Violence Prevention Expressions will be included throughout the day.  Participants will have an opportunity to win door prizes and will be provided lunch.
