[ARCHIVED] Virtual Performances for July 4 Talent Stage

UDC Logo - NewsFlash-01

The City of Longview Partners in Prevention Unity and Diversity Committee will showcase a variety of acts for the virtual Talent Stage on July 4. Residents can vote for their favorite act by liking the Facebook posts. The Committee in 2014 began providing the "Diversity in America Stage" at the City of Longview’s Fireworks and Freedom Celebration, which in 2019 transitioned to the Talent Stage.

Selected contestants will be required to record a video of their Talent Stage performance. The individual videos will be showcased on the Longview Unity & Diversity Committee Facebook page on July 4 from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. The video with the most likes on the original post will claim a gift card and a certificate.

The mission of the Unity and Diversity Committee is to overcome barriers to the full inclusion of all community members by: Protecting Human Rights, Challenging Discrimination, and Celebrating Diversity. Monthly meetings are held at noon, the first Monday of each month.  Please call Partners in Prevention at 903-237-1019 for more information about monthly meetings or auditions.

The Longview Fireworks and Freedom Celebration presented by Jucys Hamburgers, T. Blanco’s, and Jucys Taco will be a drive-in fireworks show only.  Other virtual events include a Patriotic Story and Music Time with the Longview Public Library and a Virtual Patriotic Pet Fashion Show sponsored by the Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center.
