The City of Longview Election for the District 3 Councilmember will be held Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020, and early voting will begin Tuesday, Oct. 13. The election is being held in conjunction with state and federal elections and is being conducted by Gregg County.
The District 3 election was originally scheduled for May 2020 and was postponed on March 23 by the City Council following the recommendations of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to avoid public gatherings due to the threat of COVID-19. Candidates filed for a place on the ballot for the General Election between Jan. 15 and Feb. 14, 2020.
The District 4 election was canceled by the City Council on Thursday, Feb. 27 after only one candidate, incumbent Councilwoman Kristen Ishihara, filed to run for re-election. Ishihara will serve another three-year term expiring May 2023.
Candidates for City Council District 3 are Darrin Rudy Rudolph, Hank Guichelaar, and Wray Wade.
