On May 14, 2021, the Longview Police Department took a moment to recognize some of its personnel during National Police Week by presenting its annual awards. These officers and civilians were nominated by their peers for their outstanding service to the community. This year's ceremony was canceled prior to the COVID-19 restrictions being lifted. This year's award recipients were:
Officer of the Year Award
Officer Luke Altman was commissioned as a police officer in June 2007 with the department. He is currently assigned to the Police Area Representative Unit serving beat 40, and is a part of the department’s Special Weapons and Tactics Unit.
Supervisor of the Year Award
Sgt Ryan Gibson was commissioned as a police officer in March 2008 with the department. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in December 2019. Sgt Gibson is currently assigned to 1st watch patrol and supervises beat 50 and 60 Officers.
Detective of the Year Award
Detective Kirby DeLoach was commissioned as a police officer in November 1995. During his career Detective DeLoach has served the community in numerous ways including a K9 Handler. He was transferred to the physical evidence section as a Detective in May 2015.
Rookie of the Year Award
Officer B. “Dillon” Hartsfield was commissioned as a police officer in May 2019. He is currently working patrol on 3rd watch in beat 10.
Civilian of the Year Award
Haley Griffin started working for the Longview Police Department in September 2019 as a property clerk. She was promoted to senior property clerk in December 2020.
Public Safety Communications Supervisor of the Year
Jessica Prew started working for the Longview Police Department in October 2006 as a Telecommunication Officer. She was promoted to lead Telecommunication Operator in April 2016.
Public Safety Telecommunicator of the Year
Constance Woodard started working for the Longview Police Department in October 2008 as a Telecommunication Operator. She was promoted to senior Telecommunication Operator in March 2020.
