The Longview Police Department has filed multiple charges in this case with the District Attorney's Office. An injured male remains in a local hospital from yesterday's incident at Motel 6 on S. Access Rd. Witnesses have told police that the male was actively assaulting a female in one of the motel rooms by attempting to strangle her. A third person came to the victim’s defense and shot the male subject.
Due to the circumstances surrounding this case, the Longview Police Department will be filing two criminal offense charges with the Gregg County District Attorney's Office for review and presentation to the Gregg County Grand Jury. Original Post: The Longview Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred at Motel 6, which is located at 110 S. Access Rd. At approximately 2:12 p.m. on Wednesday, July 7th, 2021, Longview Police were dispatched to the scene reference to a shooting. When officers arrived, they discovered one person had been shot. That person was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The other parties involved were brought to Longview Police Department for statements. All the parties, in this case, have been identified. This is an ongoing investigation and more information may be released at a later time.
