[ARCHIVED] Banned Book Week Spotlight

Longview Public Library will have an online Banned Book Week spotlight, September 24 via Facebook

Banned Book Week runs September 26 - October 11, and this year’s theme is “Books Unite Us. Censorship Divides Us.”

Books reach across boundaries and build connections. Censorship creates barriers.

“The books featured during Banned Books Week have all been targeted for removal or restriction in libraries and schools. By focusing on efforts across the country to remove or restrict access to books, Banned Books Week draws national attention to the harms of censorship.” (From the American Library Association)

We invite you to watch our online presentation and spotlight of the Banned Book materials we have available for checkout here in the library!

Watch on our Facebook page, via FB Premiere. Friday, September 24. Starts at 5:30 PM. We’ll be watching along with you, so be sure to ask any questions during the presentation in the comments section and we’ll forward them to our presenters for answers!
