On Feb. 4 at approximately 5:15 p.m. the Longview Fire Department responded to 704 Budd Place for a reported structure fire. Crews arrived and found light smoke coming from the roof vents of the residence. Fire crews were able to keep the fire isolated to the attic and the damage is estimated at $1,500. There were no reported injuries. The fire is believed to have started from an overloaded electrical circuit that had two space heaters being operated from the same electrical outlet.
The Longview Fire Department responded with 3 fire engines, 2 ladder trucks, 1 ambulance and 4 support vehicles for a total of 21 personnel.
