On Wednesday, March 16, four members of the Longview Fire Department Wildland Firefighting team were activated to respond to help support wildfire operations in West Texas. These four members will be part of five different strike teams that were activated as part of the Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS). They will report to the Operations Headquarters in Merkel, Texas were they will wait for their assignment.
