[ARCHIVED] Multiple Firefighters Activated Through TIFMAS

On May 18, 2022 four Longview Firefighters deployed to support firefighting operations taking place in West Texas. When the team departed Longvie,w they were initially assigned to Brady, Texas but were diverted to the Coconut fire near Vernon, Texas. This crew was deployed for a possible fourteen-day tour. 

On May 21, 2022 four more members were activated as part of the Emergency Medical Task Force (EMTF) which will serve as the Rapid Extrication Module (REM) for the Mesquite Heat Fire in Taylor County. This crew is expecting to be deployed for seven days. 

All eight firefighters are part of the Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS) which operates as part of the Texas A&M Forestry Service.
