On June 25, 2022 about 3:10 p.m. the Longview Fire Department responded to 518 Young St. for a reported residential structure fire. Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and found the back of the house on fire. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire but not before the fire did approximately $4,000 in damage to the structure. There were no reported injuries. There were two people at home at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is believed to have started from an unattended charcoal grill that had dropped hot embers onto the dry vegetation/grass and the fire spread to the structure.
The Longview Fire Department responded with 3 fire engines, 2 ladder trucks, 1 ambulance and 4 support vehicles for a total of 21 personnel.
