The City of Longview and the Longview Disc Golf Association will officially open a new 18-hole disc golf course at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, at Lear Park, 100 H.G. Mosley Parkway.
The course, which has been in development for several years, will be the fourth public course in Longview. Other courses are available at Guthrie Park (18 holes), Hinsley Park (18 holes), and Ingram Park (9 holes).
Longview's first disc golf course was installed in 2004 by a local Boy Scout group. Since then, the Longview Disc Golf Association has made a number of improvements and adjustments.
The Lear Park course is designed to be a tournament-level course to compliment Longview's other courses.
