On Oct. 10, 2022, at about 4:07 a.m. the Longview Fire Department responded to 205 Jones St. for a reported residential structure fire. When crews arrived they found fire coming from the back of the residence. There were five people home at the time of the fire and all were able to escape without injury. One cat did perish as a result of the fire. The fire did approximately $25,000 in damage, and it is believed to have started in the laundry room. The cause is still under investigation. The occupants were assisted by the American Red Cross.
The Longview Fire Department responded with 3 fire engines, 2 ladder trucks, 1 ambulance and 4 support vehicles for a total of 21 personnel.
