Longview Police conducted a sting operation on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 46 different tobacco retailers within the city testing for compliance with the state law in regards to underage tobacco sales. The Longview Police Department would like to applaud our local retailers on the training and adherence to the laws their employees abide by.

Forty-six locations were checked resulting in a total of 1 citation being issued for “Sale of Cigarette or Tobacco Products to a Person Younger than 18”.

The store that did sell Tobacco to a minor was “This Our Store”, located at 559 S Mobberly Avenue.

The Longview Police Department will periodically operate these stings at unannounced times and we strongly advise all tobacco retailers to comply with the state law.
