Longview Walk of Honor Nomination
The Longview Walk of Honor Task Force seeks to recognize individuals who made a positive impact in Longview or beyond. Inspired by Longview’s Sesquicentennial Celebration, the Longview Walk of Honor is a new project in 2020 that will be installed in downtown Longview with the intent of selecting a small group of honorees for induction each year.
Instructions
Complete and submit this online nomination application by March 31, 2020. Alternatively, return applications by mail to City of Longview c/o Walk of Honor, P.O. Box 1952, Longview, TX 75606, or return in person to City Hall at 300 W. Cotton St., Longview, TX by March 31, 2020.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Nominations should provide a narrative to justify the selection. • Nominations can be submitted by anyone. • Nominees can be individuals, families, or groups. • Nominees can be from throughout Longview’s history, living or deceased. • Nominees do not have to be celebrities or well-known. • Nominees should have spent their formative, creative, or impactful years in the Longview area. • Nominees’ accomplishments had a positive impact on Longview or beyond. • Nominees had a lasting or continuous record of service, with a preference of at least five years. • Nominees have a clear connection to the greater Longview-centric geographic area, but not limited to Longview city-limits. • Nominees cannot be current elected officials. • Nominees’ contribution could include, but not be limited to, fields such as: history, education, industry, business, judicial, law enforcement, medical, science, sports, entertainment, arts, culture, community, civic service, public service, civil rights, and humanitarian endeavors.
