Meet us at the Longview Arboretum for an outdoor performer show every Wednesday throughout Summer Reading Club! Performer for June 16, 2021: The Creature Teacher! Always one of our Summer Reading Club favorites, the Creature Teacher crew will have a lineup of different animals on hand and educate kids with fun facts and trivia about each animal. It’s always an enjoyable show for the kids AND the adults. Presentation starts at 10:30 AM. • This is an IN-PERSON EVENT. • Dress cool, and bring water! Enter through the Longview Convention Complex’s west gate entrance for a shorter walk. Yard signs will be posted to follow, but it will be like you’re heading to Maude Cobb where we’ve hosted past SRC events. BASIC PEACE OFFICER COURSE (TCOLE #1000696) LIMITED OPENINGS The Longview Police Academy is currently accepting applications for the next Basic Peace Officer Course! Application preference will be given to individuals who have been accepted for employment with a police agency. All necessary forms must be fully completed, processed, approved and on file by April 5, 2021 for entrance into the academy. Tuition for the academy is $1,000.00 and is payable prior to the first day of the academy. Payment must be submitted by check made payable to “Longview Police Department”. No credit cards or purchase orders accepted, however an invoice may be requested. Applicants must have their fingerprints submitted through the FAST fingerprint system.
