Meet us at the Longview Arboretum for an outdoor performer show every Wednesday throughout Summer Reading Club! This week’s special guest: The Silver Paws Therapy Animals Silver Paws and their animals will join us on June 30, at 10:30 AM. • This is an IN-PERSON EVENT. • Dress cool, and bring water! • Bring portable chairs, blankets for seating (there isn't designated seating at the arboretum amphitheater). • Bring cordless/hand fans, and hand umbrellas to help beat the heat! You’re welcome to park at the arboretum’s main entrance and walk to the amphitheater, but we recommend you enter through the Longview Convention Complex’s west gate entrance for a shorter trek. Yard signs will be posted to follow, but it will be like you’re heading to Maude Cobb where we’ve hosted past SRC events. Please call (903) 237-1345 for any questions or message us.

BASIC PEACE OFFICER COURSE (TCOLE #1000696) LIMITED OPENINGS The Longview Police Academy is currently accepting applications for the next Basic Peace Officer Course! Application preference will be given to individuals who have been accepted for employment with a police agency. All necessary forms must be fully completed, processed, approved and on file by April 5, 2021 for entrance into the academy. Tuition for the academy is $1,000.00 and is payable prior to the first day of the academy. Payment must be submitted by check made payable to “Longview Police Department”. No credit cards or purchase orders accepted, however an invoice may be requested. Applicants must have their fingerprints submitted through the FAST fingerprint system.
