City Council meetings are held at 5:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of the month at 300 W. Cotton St. in the City Hall Council Chamber. Council Meetings are televised live on CityView Municipal Television. These meetings are also rebroadcast for one week following the original meeting at 6:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 10:30 p.m. and 3 a.m. All meetings can also be seen online live or on demand at CityView Municipal Television. BASIC PEACE OFFICER COURSE (TCOLE #1000696) LIMITED OPENINGS The Longview Police Academy is currently accepting applications for the next Basic Peace Officer Course! Application preference will be given to individuals who have been accepted for employment with a police agency. All necessary forms must be fully completed, processed, approved and on file by November 22, 2021 for entrance into the academy. Tuition for the academy is $1,500.00 and is payable prior to the first day of the academy. Payment must be submitted by check made payable to “Longview Police Department”. No credit cards or purchase orders accepted, however an invoice may be requested. Applicants must have their fingerprints submitted through the FAST fingerprint system.
